In most cases, crowns and fillings will last an individual for a long time. In the case a crown is lost, if you can locate the crown, be sure to hang on to it until your next dental appointment. Next, take a cotton ball and dip it in clove oil and apply it to the area to help reduce pain.
In some cases, the crown can be put back over the tooth before you are seen by your dentist. If this is the case, use a small amount of dental adhesive, which can be toothpaste, dental cement, or denture adhesive. Before applying any product, ensure this product is safe for oral use.
